How NYC Changed What I Wear : Leather Jacket
Why is it still sooooo cold in New York?? I swear, we get one taste of beautiful, 80 degree weather and that’s it for another 10 days. It’s not fair!
A few weeks ago, I was searching through my closet for an in between jacket. All I had were heavy coats and lighter jackets…nothing in the middle. That’s when I realized I n e e d e d this leather jacket.
Not only is it perfect for the mild temperature days, leather jackets are a New York City s t a p l e. I’m wearing it here over a simple pair of jeans with some embellished leather slides to complete the look. I also like to wear the jacket over light dresses and sundresses or with a cute romper. I love this look for long days in the city. Since transportation can be somewhat of an inconvenience, I like to dress for days expecting I will be out from morning ’til night. If I meet friends for dinner downtown after a day of work, I don’t want to worry about going home to grab a jacket or change my look.
Let’s also talk about these slides. This type of shoe can be a gamble on whether they will be comfortable or not until you really start walking in them. I definitely got lucky with these $30 slides from Century 21 because they are SO comfy! Tried and true…I’ve worn them all over the city and no blisters or sore feet.
Here are some of the best deals on similar slides I’ve found. I definitely suggest purchasing these in person since comfort is #1. Or look for a good return policy 😉
