This past month has been exhausting. First I had my Vegas trip followed by a visit from my parents. My parents and I hit almost every area of NYC, ate at a million bakeries and candy stores, walked thousands of steps, saw two shows and walked through two museums. It was such a jam packed four days. I’ve been slacking a lot of the posts but have so much material to share! I’m going to try my best to get back in the swing of things. The first thing I want to chat about is the importance of a basic tee.
The feeling of not finding anything to wear is probably one of the worst feelings ever. Nothing is worse than rummaging through your closet not liking a single thing, even though you had no issues finding something yesterday. I might be exaggerating a little but we’ve all been there.
When this happens, my go-to item is always a basic white tee. (I typically go for the v-neck but crew necks are always a hit too.) They go with everything! I’m wearing it with a Free People jean skirt here, but you can also pair it with joggers, embroidered jeans, and so many other things. Pair it with some sneakers for a casual look during the day, or dress it up with some heeled booties for a nicer outfit at night.
I also chose to layer on the jewelry here with some simple statement pieces and gold hoop earrings. I think it pulled the whole casual day look together a little more.
As we’re heading into fall and winter (NY has yet to figure that out, it’s been so hot!) you can throw a jean or leather jacket over for a warmer look. I’ve linked some of my favorite basic tees out there and all of them are under $20. Happy Shopping!
